Srinagar, May 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir will host a national carrom championship in the first week of July.
This was informed by Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Associaton at a meeting here to finalise the arrangements for the national event.
The tournament will be held at the Indoor Stadium here.
The meeting was chaired by Youth Services and Sports Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed who said 100 players from different states would participate in the five-day tournament, sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Airtel.
On the occasion, a team would be selected for the international carrom tournament.
Mr Sayeed directed Director Sports Manoj Panth to repair the Indoor Stadium and was assured that the work was in full pace and would be completed before the event.
