Inflation up at 3.96 per cent

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) The annual rate of inflation rose to 3.96 per cent for the week ended May 6, as against 3.59 per cent during the previous week as there was an increase in the prices of fruit, vegetables, milk and sugar prices.

The inflation rate, calculated on point-to-point basis, stood at 5.67 per cent during the corresponding week of the previous year, according to official figures released here today.
