India pull off thrilling win in first one-dayer
KINGSTON, Jamaica, May 19 (Reuters) India captain Rahul Dravid struck a century to lead his side to a thrilling five-wicket win over West Indies in the rain-hit first one-dayer.
Dravid hit 105 off 102 balls, his 12th one-day century, sharing a 123-run fourth-wicket partnership with Mohammad Kaif, who struck the winning boundary with one ball to spare to finish unbeaten on 66 in India's total of 254 for five.
Earlier, West Indies opener Chris Gayle hammered 123 studded with 18 fours and two sixes to anchor the hosts to 251 for six after India had won the toss in a match reduced by rain to 45-overs a side.
The next game of the five-match series will also be played at Sabina Park on Saturday.
