IIM-A, Duke Univ enter into arrangement for corporate education
Ahmedabad, May 19 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Management- Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE), a corporation of the Duke University in North Carolina, USA today announced a collaborative arrangement to develop and deliver custom corporate education progarmmes in India and West Asia.
Housed in the IIM Ahmedabad campus, the initiative will leverage the resources and capabilities of each institution to extend Duke CE's business model in India and West Asia.
Duke Corporate Education is ranked number one from past three years and its collaboration with IIM-A will enhance the Indian institute's presence globally.
''The agreement is likely to be signed next month and the courses for the corporate executives will commence from next year,'' IIM-A Director Bakul Dholakia said.
He said several corporates had approched them for such a course.
However, he refused to disclose any names.
A seperate office will be opened in the IIM-A campus and Dr Shailender Mehta who at present teaches strategic management in Purdue University will head the new venture.
William J Bigoness, Managing Director, Duke CE, will join as Chief Operative Officer for India.
