CM to inaugurate Tirupathi Utsav
Tirupathi, May 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy will inaugurate a four-day Tirupathi Utsav, which begins on May 28 at TTD's Mahati auditorium.
The Utsav was mooted to explain the historical and mythological importance of Tirupathi and Tirumala to the younger generation.
Releasing a poster of the utsav here last night, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman and Convenor of the Utsav B Karunakar Reddy said the prestigious event would serve as a platform for the new generation to share experiences with the old.
A bronze statue of carnatic melody queen M S Subbalakshmi will be unveiled by the Chief Minister on the opening day of the Utsav.
Retired employees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams( TTD) had extended their support to the festival.
Retired State government employees and Sri Venkateswara University employees held a massive rally in support of the Utsav today.
TTD employees and former TTD employees would take out a procession in the main streets here on May 23 as a prelude to the Utsav.
