CM calls for communal harmony
Bhagalpur, May 19 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today stressed on maintaining communal harmony in the state, saying development programmes could not be executed unless communal amity was preserved.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a road overbridge, Mr Kumar said the state government was committed to maintaining communal harmony in the state.
He said no compromise would be made while executing development works and funds would not be a constraint for implementation of the development and welfare schemes.
He said steps had been initiated to waive off loans of the riot victims. '' Every effort is being made to revive the sick handloom industries in the state, '' he added.
Talking about the infrastructural develpoment, Mr Kumar said the state government was taking steps for improving the quality of roads in Bihar and added that to change the power scenario thermal power stations would be installed in Pirpaiti, Kahalgaon and Katihar.
