CID raids on doctors in Jaipur
Jaipur, May 19 (UNI) A CID Crime Branch team raided the residences and clinics of four city doctors, alleged to be involved in female foeticide cases.
The raids which began around 1030 hrs yesterday continued late into the night.
The clinics raided were of Dr Ravi Prabha in Bapu Nagar and Dr Shilu Jain in Malviya Nagar, the Apex Hospital in Malviya Nagar and Deep Hospital in Jhotwara.
Superintendent Kumar Inderbhushan, who is heading the CID probe team, told UNI that surgical instruments, two computers and blackened advertisement boards were seized from Dr Prabha's clinic.
Operating tables, two boards, posters and one PC were seized from Dr Shilu Jain's clinic.
Mr Inderbhushan said it was found that Apex Hospital's sonography machine was operating without a licence. ''We sealed the sonography machine in a room of the hospital.'' At Deep Hospital, the team searched the diagonostic centre and sonography room.
The state government had handed over the investigations into cases of doctors found guilty of blatantly violating the Pre-conception and Pre-natel Diagnostic Techniques Act of 1994 to a special CID team three days ago.
Mr Inderbhushan said, ''The full probe will take some time as the team has to cover the whole of Rajasthan including places like Kota, Chittorgarh and others.'' UNI RRT LR DS1240
