Centre criticised for rejecting Mukherjee Commission's report
Dehra Dun, May 19 (UNI) Taking strong exception to the rejection of the Mukherjee Commission's report on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's disapearance in 1945 by the Centre, Members of Netaji Sangharsh Samiti (Bharat) burnt the UPA government in effigy near Clock Tower here today.
''Government is not serious about Netaji and by rejecting Mukherjee Commission's report it has hurt the sentiments of people,'' Arvind Kumar Gupta, central prsident of the Samiti said.
Even after six decades the facts about Netaji are still unclear, he said, alleging that instead of solving the mystry, the government posed obstracles during the Commission's investigation.
''All this process reveals government's intention to debar Netaji from credit of his contribution in India's independence,'' Mr Gupta said.
Warning the government not to misguide the people Samiti's state president, Dr Kailash Barthwal, said the government should honestly present the facts about Netaji. ''It is for vested interest that the government is hiding the facts about Netaji,'' he alleged.
