'BJP to surely build Ram temple in Ayodhya'

Mangalore, May 19: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Rajnath Singh today asserted that his party was committed to building Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and bringing in a common civil code by amending Article 317 of the Constitution.

Addressing party workers after inaugurating the new party office here, he said though the party was committed to these issues, it was unable to fulfil them when it was in power at the Centre as it turned out to be a coalition government, comprising 13 parties.

However, the party would fulfil its promises once it came back to power, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said the JD (S)-BJP coalition government in the state had fulfilled several promises made to the public by incorporating them in the Budget for 2006-07.
