BIS conducts raid on packaged drinking water company
Hyderabad, May 19 (UNI) Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) officials today conducted raid on "Pioneer Bottling Company", a manufacturer of packaged drinking water with spurious BIS standard mark, near Kispathpur village of Rajendra Nagar mandal in Ranga Reddy district.
According to an official release here, the officials of the BIS raided the company which was producing packaged drinking water without having a valid licence.
A large quantity of packaged drinking water and lables with the brand name of 'Biky's' were seized during the raid.
Action is being initiated against the offender under BIS act 1986. The offence is punishable by imprisonment upto one year or a fine upto Rs 50,000 or both, the release added.
