BHU bags US Air Force grant

Varanasi, May 19: The United States Air Force has sanctioned an annual grant of 23,160 dollars to the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for three years for a study relating to high-temperature composites.

The project grant will be utilised for studying the effects of extreme environment on high temperature ceramic composites -- one of the core materials for application in spacecrafts, a BHU press statement said yesterday.

The study will be conducted under project leader Dr V K Srivastava, who is already associated with various international projects pertaining to the development of high temperature composites.
