Videocon Group to invest RS 900 crore in W Bengal

Kolkata, May 18 (UNI) The Videocon Group would be investing Rs 900 crores in West Bengal for setting up an IT Park in Salt Lake and for manufacturing LCD TVs at its Taratolla plant.

Videocon Group Chairman V N Dhoot said here today that Rs 800 crores will be invested for setting up the IT park in over 40,00,000 square feet area.

He said the IT park, to be set up in two years, would provide employment to 25000 people.

Mr Dhoot said a japanese team would be visiting the Taratolla plant on May 24 to study the step required to upgrade the plant for manufacturing of LCD TVs.

A total of Rs 100 crores would be spent for upgrading the Taratolla plant, he added.
