Monsoon advances into southwest, southeast bay, andaman islands: IMD

Pune, May 18 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some parts of southwest Bay of Bengal and some parts of southeast Bay, south Andaman Islands and most parts of Andaman sea, India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said.

Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Weather Forecasting, Ms R R Lele said the conditions are favourable for monsoon to further advance into some parts of southwest and southeast Bay and some parts of east central Bay during the next two to three days.

Earlier, the IMD had stated that monsoon would be on time and hit Kerala on May 30.
