New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The VHP today said the resignation of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi from the BJP close on the heels of the exit of several other leaders from the party ''exposed the failure of the leadership''.

Talking to newspersons, VHP International President Ashok Singhal said the resignations of Mr Marandi, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti and former Delhi Chief Minister Madanlal Khurana reflected the failure of the party leadership.

'' BJP chief Rajnath Singh was a good human being but at the same time, senior leaders were leaving the party... this proved that the leadership had failed to win the confidence of all partymen, even senior party leaders,'' he said.

Without giving a direct reply on whether the VHP was supporting ''Bharatiya Janashakti'' leader Uma Bharti's padyatra, Mr Singhal said ''she was speaking the language of Hindutva''.
