India to join Turkmenistan-Afghan-Pak gas pipeline: Cabinet

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The Cabinet today gave in principle agreement for participation of India in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan gas pipeline project.

After India joins the pipeline project, it would be named as Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline project, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.

The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
