New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today formed a high-level committee to monitor the CBI probe in connection with the nexus among the politicians, MCD officials and builder mafia in abetting illegal constructions in Delhi.
A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma formed the committee consisting of former Director General of Police B L Vohra, former Commissioner of Delhi Police R S Gupta and CBI Joint Director R K Mishra, to monitor the scam on a day-to-day basis.
The Bench also appointed five court commissioners for five more zones of the MCD for supervising unauthorised constructions in their respective areas.
They are Mr Najim Waziri, Mr Akshya Bipin, Mr Sanjay Bhasin, Mr A K Gupta and Mr Kirti Uppal.
With the recent Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Bill (awaiting Presidential assent) taking steam out of the demolition drive, the court with the direction would fix responsibility of illegal construction on the corrupt MCD officials, politicians and builder mafia.
