Geelani's resents remark of four faction members on self-rule
Srinagar, May 18 (UNI) The breakaway Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani has issued showcause notices to leaders of four of its constituents for ''violating the amalgam's constitution''.
Breakaway Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar told UNI that Mr Geelani, in a meeting attended by all members of the Majlis-e-Shoora here, expressed resentment over the recent statements of some members on the self-rule.
''These statements were in violation of the constitution of the Hurriyat Conference,'' he added.
The spokesman said the members were Azam Inquilabi of the Mahaz-e-Azadi, Firdous Ahmad Shah of the Democratic Political Movement, Yasmeen Raja of the Muslim Khwateen Markaz and Sadullah Tantray of the Freedom Movement.
Mr Akbar said the leaders have been asked to reply to the notices and explain their position within four days.
''In case they fail to do so, the would be suspended from the Hurriyat,'' he added.
