Dr Anil Kakodkar takes over as chairman of IIT Bombay

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission Dr Anil Kakodkar has taken over as Chairman of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for a three year term. replacing industrialist Rahul Bajaj.

A distinguished engineer and scientist of international repute, Dr Kakodkar has played a major role in India's design, development capability and self reliance in nuclear technology, a release issued here today said.

Receipient of Doctor of Science from IIT Bombay, Dr Kakodkar also contributed very significantly to the governance of IIT Bombay as a member of its Board of Governors for six years, the release added.
