CBI raids properties of Andaman Port Administrative officer

Visakhapatnam, May 18 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids on the houses of Andaman Port Administrative Officer N Dhilleswara Rao and his relatives, here.

Reports said Mr Rao had been taken into custody.

CBI Superintendent of Police A Sai Manohar told UNI last night that the raids were held following charges against Mr Rao of possesing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids were conducted as per instructions of CBI officials of Kolkata. After the raids, documents containing details were handed over to CBI officials in Kolkata, Mr Manohar said.

Mr Rao was transferred to Marmugoa Port as Deputy Chairman and later to Port Blair as Administrative Officer in 2002. Recently, he was transferred to Calcutta Port Trust as Deputy Chairman and was scheduled to take charge towards the end of this month.
