Arthur promises 30 Million Pound assistance for Orissa project

Bhubaneswar, May 18 (UNI) British High Commissioner Sir Michael Arthur today assured an assistance of 30 million pounds during the year for undertaking developmental work in Health and Education besides reform in public undertakings in Orissa.

Mr.Arthur, who met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his visit to the state, discussed with him various developmental programmes and offered to provide technical knowhow and other assistance to the various projects.

Official sources said the British High Commissioner praised the administrative reforms programmes in the state and the conducive atmosphere in Orissa for favourble investment in industry.

He hinted that Britain was more keen to invest in Orissa in various fields. The Chief Minister apprised him of the success of various anti-poverty programmes and the steps taken for development of tourism in the state.
