Rupee makes strong recovery, touches high of 45.18/20/USD
Mumbai, May 17: The rupee opened stronger by 16 paise at 45.35/37 per US Dollar as compared to the last close of 45.51/52, a forex dealer here said.
The Indian currency strengthened further to 45.18/20 per US dollar in the mid-morning session on the back of strong recovery in the stock markets.
Stock market's bench mark index BSE Sensex made a strong recovery this morning gaining over 270 points touching a high of 12,144 points which helped rupee recover as well from the losses made in the last two days, an analyst said.
