Nepal assures it will not allow ISI activities on its soil
New Delhi, May 17: Nepal has assured India that it will not allow its territory to be used for ISI activities, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed informed the Lok Sabha today.
The Nepalese Authorities have also agreed for enhanced cooperation between the two countries for dealing with Maoist insurgency, Mr Ahamed said during Question Hour.
He said India would take up with the new Nepalese government all security concerns, including the border dispute.
He said the government was trying its best to restore multi-party democracy in Nepal, but it would be its people who would finally decide their future.
''We wish to see peace and prosperity in Nepal. Stability in Nepal is in the best interest of India and democracy is the best way of bringing about stability.'' Admitting that some top Maoists, including Mohan Vaidya, from Nepal were in judicial custody in India, he said there was, however, no request from Nepal to release them.
