K'taka CM to inaugurate IT investors meet
Bangalore, May 17 : Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the IT Investors Meet to be held in Hubli on May 20 to attract Information Technology firms.
Announcing this to newspersons here yesterday, Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar, in charge of Hubli Dharward district, said Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti would attend the meet.
He said the main objective of the meet was to attract IT investors to the North Karnataka region. The government would also give space for those interested to set up their facility in the IT park already set up in the district with required infrastructural facilities. A special package would also be announced for IT investors soon, he added.
Mr Shettar said leading IT companies such as Infosys, Wipro and IBM had confirmed their participation in the event, expected to attract over 150 companies.
He said the software export was likely to shoot up from the present Rs five crore to Rs 300 crore in the next four years.
