Hearing of petition challening grant to minorities on May 26
Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) A petition challenging the provision of grant to a particular minority community was today fixed for hearing on May 26 by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court.
Justices Jagdish Bhalla and D B Sharma passed the order on a writ filed by Rajendra Singh Bagga and the Sikh Federation.
The petition contended there was no constitutional provision for the state government to provide grant on basis of religion.
It also claimed that 99 per cent grant was given to only Muslims, while the Sikh community received only one per cent.
