Govt assures to bring back bodies of 13 Indians from Kuwait

New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) The government today assured that all efforts would be made to bring back the bodies of 13 Indians, who died in Kuwait, to their respective places in the country.

Responding to concerns expressed by Mr R C Shekhar Reddy, Leader of the Telugu Desam Party in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachauri said he would refer the matter to the External Affairs Minister.

Mr Reddy said 13 Indians died in Kuwait but their family members back in the country were yet to receive the bodies. ''I had earlier written a letter to the External Affairs Minister, but nothing has been done so far,'' he regretted.

The TDP leader also demanded suitable compensation for their families.

Expressing concern over the issue, Mr Pachauri said the government would make all efforts to bring back their bodies to India at the earliest.
