Four special teams to investigate jewellery robbery case
Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said four teams would be constituted to investigate yesterday's Rs 6 crore jewellery robbery in the city.
Speaking to newsmen here after reviewing the law and order situation with the police officials in the city, the Minister said the police had also prepared images of the suspected robbers which would be sent to the neighbouring state to nab them.
He said that the Cherlapally Central Jail doctor Sridhar was transferred to the health department. He had allegedly accepted bribe to work in the jail which was telecast on a Telugu TV channel. An inquiry was also ordered into his involvement in corrupt activities.
Mr Reddy said the government would issue notification for the recruitment of 6000 police constables and 400 Sub-Inspectors at the earliest.
