CCL earns profit of Rs 73.64 crores

Ranchi, May 17(UNI) The Central Coalfields Limited(CCL) has made a remarkable performance and earned a profit of Rs 73.64 crore in April in the current financial year.

According to a CCL statement it has achieved allround progress in productivity, despatch and off-take capacity utilization.

The company has earned a profit of Rs 73.64 crore(provisional) during April, 2006, against the budgeted profit of Rs 44.85 crore and Rs 70.27 crore during the same month last year. Thus there was an increase of Rs 28.79 crore over the expected profit of Rs 3.4 crore over the same month last year, it said.

The company has achieved positive growth in raw coal production over the same month last year. In raw coal off take also the company achieved 4 per cent growth in comparision to the same period last year. A growth of 8 per cent has been achieved in washed coal production over same period last year whereas 7 per cent growth has been achieved in the productivity of open cast mine over the same period last year,it added.
