New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) BJP Legislative Party in Delhi Assembly will oppose the bill on the office-of-profit issue proposed to be introduced by the state government in a special one-day session of the House tomorrow.

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi today said the Delhi government was ''playing'' with the basic spirit of the Constitution to save the Congress MLAs from disqualification by bringing the bill with retrospective effect.

He criticised the Sheila Dikshit-led state government for calling a one-day special session to save the Congress MLAs from disqualification, even as people of Delhi suffering due to extreme shortage of electricity and water in Delhi.

Prof Mukhi added that his party would demand discussion on the situation that arose due to scarcity of electricity and water, and demolition/sealing drive being carried out by the Municipal Corpration of Delhi.

The special session should have been called to discuss the grave water and power problems, sealing and demolition rather than been called to save the Congress MLAs who were occupying office of profit that was against the law of the land.

Prof Mukhi reiterated that during the one-day session he and his colleagues would raise voices against the deteriorating situation of electricity and water in Delhi and demolition/sealing drive being carried out by MCD to expose the Shiela Dikshit government on the floor of house.
