Medical students to start shoe shine agitation in Surat tomorrow

Surat, May 16 (UNI) The interns of the Government Medical College (GMC) here will tomorrow start a ''shoe shine'' agitation in order to intensify their agitation against the proposed reservation in the higher education sector.

Intern Medical Student Association preseident of GMC Rajiv Kharwar, said that the shoe shine agitation will begin at 1030 hrs at Majura Gate.

''We will distribute the pamphlets and then begin the agitation, in which the junior doctors will also join,'' said Mr Kharwar.

However, their proposed hunger strike in front of the District Collectorate would not take place, he informed.

Meanwhile, the GMC sources said that services in the hospital remained unaffected.
