New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) A city court today remanded Deputy Legal Advisor (DLA) of the Anti-Corruption Branch, CBI, to 14-day judicial custody after he was arrested on Thursday for accepting a bribe.

Special Judge Indermit Kaur Kochchar remanded D K Srivastava, 55, to judicial custody till May 30. ''He will be lodged in judicial custody as per the jail manual and rules,'' the court maintained.

He was caught red-handed, while allegedly accepting and demanding a bribe of Rs four lakh from a person to give an opinion in his favour.

Srivastava, who has been an employee with the Prosecution division of the CBI for the last 10 years, was caught on May 11 while taking the bribe from ex-MD of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Rajeev Sharma.

This is the second such instance when a DLA has been arrested by the CBI. Earlier, on March 14, CBI sleuths had arrested R P Dwivedi, along with a constable, B S Prabhu, in Mumbai following allegation that they had been indulging in corrupt practices.

Srivastava was arrested under sections 7, 13 (2), 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
