CBI arrests Chief Port Administrator in Port Blair
Port Blair, May 16 (UNI) Chief Port Administrator N Dileshwar Rao was arrested today by a special CBI team for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a ship owner.
Mr Rao was arrested from his office in Port Management Board in the early hours and remanded to 3-day custody by the District and Session Court here.
The CBI conducted raids at his office and home at Chakergoan, Port Blair. The car and house of Mr Dileshwar Rao was thoroughly searched and the cash was ultimately found at his office. Besides, imported whiskey was also recovered from his possession.
An FIR in the case was registered at Kolkata under section VII of PC Act, 1988.
