Prepare report card of each state, Sonia tells PM
New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi today called for consolidating the gains of the initiatives taken by the coalition government, and ensuring they showed results.
''We have launched a very large number of initiatives in keeping with our manifesto and the Common Minimum Programme,'' Ms Gandhi said, addressing a general body meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party on her first day in the House after her re-election from Rae Bareli by a huge margin.
''Now is the time for consolidation and ensuring that these initiatives begin to show results on ground,'' she added, and requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to have a report prepared on all that the government has done in each state, so that the entire party organisation is better informed and equipped to ''propagate our contributions''.
The Congress president pointed out that in a few days, the UPA government would be completing two years in office. ''This is a milestone on which we can certainly derive some satisfaction,'' she said.
