Placed third in group'' A'' with 6 points from five outings, Mahindra United, if win over Bangladesh's Brothers Union in their final group clash tomorrow, will give themselves some hope to qualify for the AFC quarter finals as one of the two second-best teams from the six groups in the fray.
Al Ahed, who are second in group'' A'' have 7 points and will be playing leaders Al Muharraq( 10) on the same day in an away match, to conclude their group engagements. The Lebanese outfit will be hoping for a win to make it to the second round. However, a defeat for Al Ahed and a victory for Mahindra would mean that the Jeepmen will end up second in the group with 9 points.
Meanwhile, Dempo sports club, taking on Turkmenistan's Marv in the another match at the same venue, have just gained one point from three outings so far and stand no chance of making it beyond the group stage.
Having suffered two defeats against's Oman's Al Nasr, the only bright spot for Dempo has been a draw against Marv in their away match.
