HTTL to produce Walt Disney toys, baby Hanuman in India

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Hanung Toys and Textiles Ltd (HTTL), manufacturer and exporter of soft toys and home furnishings, has said it has become the licensee for producing Walt Disney toys in India.

''Besides, we will also bring a soft toy version of baby Hanuman, an animated film made by the Percept Picture Company,'' HTTL CMD Ashok Kumar Bansal told reporters here today.

The company has already put up a machinery in place to manufacture the soft-toy.

The increase in the demand for soft toys due to the influx of the Western culture in the Indian market, has resulted an increased production of soft toys.

HTTL reported a turnover of Rs 150 crore in the last fiscal, with the soft toys' section share at Rs 97 crore and home textiles at Rs 53 crore.

The soft toys division of HTTL falls in the Noida Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with a production of 110 lakh sets per annumn.

The company expects to increase its domestic market share in the toys segment to 20 per cent from its present share at 15 per cent at Rs 90 crore.

HTTL's products, under the brand name ''Play-n-Pets'', are available at over 3,000 retail outlets including Lifestyle, Shopper's Shop, Westside and Big Bazaar.
