Goa wins Federation Cup baseball for men and women

Margao, May 15: Hosts Goa won both the men's and women's titles in the 5th Federation Cup Baseball Championship which concluded at the SAG Ground Fatorda in south Goa today.

In the men's finals today, Goa defeated Orissa by 3-1 homes. For the hosts, Sidesh Naik scored two homes and Gautam Gawade one, while for Lakmohan scored one home for Orissa.

Yesterday, Goa clinched the women's title defeating Delhi by 2-1 homes.

Earlier in the semifinals, Goa edged out Karnataka by 12-9.

Kalash Gaokar, Gautam Naik, Nikhil Gawade and Sushant Rawant scored two homes each for the hosts. In the second semifinals, Orissa trounced Chandigarh 15-10.
