BJP seeks Aamir Khan's apology for insulting people of Gujarat
Ahmedabad, May 15 (UNI) BJP's Gujarat unit today sought an apology from Bollywood star Aamir Khan for making insulting remarks about the people of the state and said he is about the ground realities.
In a rejoinder to the film star's statement published in a section of the Press, BJP state spokesman Purashottam Rupala asserted that Gujarat is one of the safest states of the country, espcially after the last Assembly elections.
''If he is so concerned about the law and order situation in Gujarat after recent communal clashes in Vadodara, why is Aamir or his ilks silent about the carnage of innocent people in Doda in Jammu and Kashmir?'' he asked.
Mr Rupala described it as a cheap publicity and part of larger conspiracy to malign Gujarat, unleashed by anti-dam activists like Medha Patkar, among others.
