Karunanidhi announces solatium for dead,injured partymen

Chennai, May 14 (UNI) DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced a solatium of Rs 1.75 lakhs to the families of two partymen, one of who was killed and the other injured during the party's campaign A party release here said the families of Mr M Sundaram and Gouthaman from Madurai and Theni districts and Ms Indirani of Rasipuram would be given Rs 50,000 each, Mr M Selvapandian, who was injured, would be given Rs 25,000 on behalf of the DMK headquarters.

While Sundaram and Goutham were killed in a stampede at an election meeting in Madurai, Indirani died of heart attack when she was campaigning for the DMK, the release said.
