UP Police guns down 8 dacoits of Jagjivan gang
Etawah, UP, May 13 (UNI) at least eight dacoits of the dreaded Jagjivan Parihar gang were gunned down in an encounter on the UP-MP border today, in a joint operation by the two state police forces.
DIG (Kanpur range) Daljit Singh confirmed that eight to nine dacoits had been killed under Budhpura police station area of Etawah.
One UP policeman was also wounded in the cross-firing.
''The encounter is still continuing,''the DIG said.
At least 12 abducted people had been rescued from the clutches of dacoits during the encounter.
However, whereabouts of gang leader Jagjivan was still unknown.
