TTD cancels cellar darshan tickets

Tirumala, May 13: In view of heavy summer rush at the famous Sri Venkateswara Temple for darshan, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) today cancelled issue of cellar tickets on VIP and recommendation letters.

All 24 compartments at the Vaikutam queue complex were packed with pilgrims, a TTD official said last night. For the convenience of free darshan pilgrims, issue of cellar tickets had been cancelled.

As many as 60,000 pilgrims had darshan of the Lord yesterday, but there were still lengthy queues.

All arrangements had been made at the temple for the queue to move smoothly, the official added.
