State funeral for freedom fighter

Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, May 13 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter Thanuram Bansod died of old age at his residence at Khisora village near Magarlod in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district on Thursday night, official sources today said.

He was 84. A state funeral was accorded to him at his native village yesterday, the sources said.

Mr Bansod actively took part in the freedom movement and was jailed.
