Satyam Foundation hosts cartoon expo

Hyderabad, May 13: Satyam Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, hosted a three-day exhibition of cartoons on HIV and AIDS at the Art Gallery, Kala Bhavan in ICCR here.

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister K Rosaiah feliciated the winners of the competition by presenting a certificate and cash prize to them yesterday.

On this occasion a book on the cartoons was also launched. The book would be used to support the campaign undertaken by the foundation on AIDS and HIV awareness.

Satyam Foundation conducted a month-long National level cartoon contest with 'Youth and Aids' as its theme, in collaboration with Indiajnk.Org. The competition received 586 entries from across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Foundation Director Dr Balaji yesterday said ''This is a unique effort to communicate with the youth in fighting the HIV epidemic in Andhra Pradesh. The goal of the contest is aimed at creating effective messages on HIV to the youth in a simple way to aware them of the risk behaviours and to make youths take decisions to help their families and themselves to stay safe.''
