Ritwik in quarters in Atlanta
Mumbai, May 13 (UNI) India's number one Ritwik Bhattacharya began his campaign in style when he eased into the quarter-finals of the Atlanta Open squash tournament.
In the main draw of 16, Bhattacharya got off to a good start when he won the opening game 11-3 against qualifier Robbie Lingashi of Zambia in the first round, a report received here today said.
But Lingashi was forced to retire when he sprained his ankle at the start of the second game, to allow the Indian to set up a quarter-final clash with Shawn De Lierre of Canada.
Bhattacharya has been working with more focus on his movement recently and finds himself more relaxed on court.
Earlier this month, he broke into the top 50 and is well on track to achieve his objective of number 30 before the end of the year.
