Raghunath Pandey elected TWU president
Jamshedpur, May 13 (UNI) Raghunath Pandey was declared elected as the president of Tata Workers' Union (TWU) defeating his nearest rival and incumbent president RBB Singh by a convincing margin.
Elections for the 210 seats of 214-member Union was held here yesterday amidst tight security. Counting took place till late last night inside the Steelannium hall of Tisco works.
The prestigious Union, of which Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was once the president, was deregistered by the labour depatment of Jharkhand last year but later got back its status.
TWU is considered as one of the most organised Unions and also known for its examplary record of management-worker relations.
