Prachanda to lead Maoists talks with Nepal govt
Kathmandu, May 13: Maoist leader Prachanda will lead the team of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) at the dialogue with the government to resolve the decade-long problem of insurgency.
The special central committee meeting of the party has asked Prachand, the chairman of the party, to lead the Maoist talks team, the Maoists said in a statement issued here today.
Prachand has also deputed a team comprising Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Dev Gurung and Dinanath Sharma, to make preparations for the talks, the statement added.
He has also accused the reinstated parliament of failing to address people's aspirations.
He also warned if the parties acted against the 12-point agreement for a republican state, there would be another armed struggle.
Two rounds of talks were held in the past but failed as the government refused to hold the election of the constituent assembly.
