Indore, May 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the government was trying its best to deal with the precarious power situation in the state.

Mr Chouhan told reporters here today that power situation in the state had aggravated due to less supply from the Centre's quota.

Besides, production had been affected in the state's thermal and hydro-electric power plants.

He admitted that there was a 1500 MW gap between power demand and supply.

The CM said the government was aware of water crisis in several places. The government had made long-term and short-term plans to deal with the situation.

The long-term plan includes the Jalabhishek Abhiyan launched recently, he added.
