Militants lob grenades over BJP rally, kill two workers

Jammu, May 13 (UNI) Two BJP workers were killed and 30 other injured, five of them seriously, when militants lobbed a grenade at a party rally near Doda Bus stand this morning.

Police said militants lobbed two grenades at a protest rally, orgainsed by the BJP against militancy and killings of Hindu in Doda and Udhampur by the Jammu and Kashmir Bhartiya Janata Party.

At least two BJP workers died on the spot and 30 were injured in the incident.

Seven persons were discharged after first aid. Four of the seriously injured have been shifted to Jammu Medical College Hospital. Security arrangement has been beefed up around the bus stand.

Senior police and security officials of the district have rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
