Merger decision on May 16: Muraleedharan
Kozhikode, May 13 (UNI) Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) today said it would take a decision on merging with the parent Congress at a meeting of the party state executive at Thiruvanthapuram on May 16.
The session would also deliberate in detail the cause for the defeat suffered by the party in the Assembly elections in the state, DIC (K) President K Muraleedharan told reporters here.
It may be noted that the DIC (K) had reportedly agreed to merge with the Congress after the elections. However, party veteran K Karunakaran denied having reached any such agreement.
Also on the agenda was the issue of continuing support to the LDF councillors, who won local body and municipal elections, with the support of the DIC (K), he added.
