MCX index closes at 2,466.88 down -0.50 pts

Mumbai, May 13: Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 939.30 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,466.88 down by 12.34 points (-0.50 per cent). The total trades registered were 22,890.

The MCX metal index closed at 2,959.13 up by 2.13 points (0.07 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2,730.39 down by 0.82 points (-0.03 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 368.42 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 248.50 crore and MCX silver Rs 119.92 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 4,588. The open interest for gold was 11,794 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 3,47,560 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 55.54 crore with 966 trades, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 10.86 crore with 349 trades MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 17.37 crore with 169 trades, respectively.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 20.60 crore with open interest of 6,76,300 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows -- urad registered a turnover of Rs 8.01 crore with 166 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 52.92 crore with 672 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 13.69 crore with 247 trades, and masur registered a turnover of Rs 11.37 crore with 522 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 29.38 crore with 1,202 trades, while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 217.21 crore with 10,049 trades.

MCX Gold June 06 closed at Rs 10,5640 up by Rs 21 (0.20 per cent), while Aug closed at Rs 10,810 up by Rs five (0.05 per cent), and October closed at Rs 11,082 up by Re one (0.01 per cent).

MCX Silver July 06 closed at Rs 21,999 down by Rs three (-0.01 per cent), Sept closed at Rs 22,640 up by Rs 56 (0.25 per cent).
