Jilted lover turns 'human bomb' at beloved's wedding

Lucknow, May 13 (UNI) In a sensational case, a jilted lover tied crude bombs on his person and blew himself up at the wedding of his beloved in Hardoi district yesterday.

Several people, mostly women, were also wounded in the incident.

Netrapal, an electrician, tied crude bombs to his body, connected through circuit with a switch in his shoe.

He entered the venue, disguised as a woman to gain easy entry, with an objective to blow up the groom, Ram Lakhan.

Just before the 'kanyadaan', the 22-year-old spurned lover reached the spot and tried to kill Ram Lakhan.

Netrapal was killed when the bombs exploded, additional police superintendent Vikramaditya Sawar said.

However, police superintendent K N Singh maintained it was not a case of human bomb although a switch and wires were found from the body of the accused.

Meanwhile, a bomb disposal squad is likely to inspect the body and remains at the spot this evening.

The bride and the groom left the venue after completing all the marriage rituals.
