Jeweller found murdered near Chamkaur Sahib

Ludhiana, May 13 (UNI) The body of a city based jeweller bearing sharp-edged weapon wounds was found near a canal near Chamkaur Sahib in Ropar district today, police here said.

According to the police, the victim was identified as Rajesh Sachdeva and his body was recovered from his own car.He had been reported missing from his house yesterday evening.

Refering to the statement of the victim's brother, the police said that jewellery worth Rs 50 lakhs was missing from his shop. The police are looking from a girl identified as Neeru who worked in the jewellery shop and is reported missing.

In another incident in the city, a businessman identified as Gurmit Singh was found murdered at his residents located on Chandigarh road. His body bore sharp-edged weapon wounds. The police are searching for the two servants employed by the victim who are missing since morning.
